Gerbera Sweet Dreams
These fantastic winter-hardy gerbera begin flowering late spring, continue through the summer and into the autumn offering
3 seasons of colour. Single flowers with green centres held on strong stems that are excellent for cutting. The Garvinea®
Gerbera was bred specifically for outdoor performance. They stand up to all kinds of weather and demonstrate a high
resistance to pests and disease.
Situation
Well-drained soil in full sun, to light shade, or indoors in a brightly lit position. Garvinea Gerberas grow in average to
compost rich soils
Planting Time
Winter to spring. Make holes large enough so that the roots can be fanned out slightly and keep the crowns above the soil
surface. Water in well, keep moist during growth. Water in the early morning is best. Garvinea Gerberas grow 30-40cm tall
and 40-50cm across.
Care
Keep the surrounding soil free of weeds. Garvinea Gerberas are excellent cut flowers. To pick them, wait until they are fully
open as they last longer, hold the lower part of the stem, twist slightly and pull. Gerberas can be left undisturbed for several
years. Clumps can be lifted and divided between August and September. After dividing, trim roots and tops and allow cut
portion to dry before replanting. When left in the ground, top dress with ballanced fertiliser and water this in thoroughly
