Alton Farmers Market
Mostly the second Saturday of every month 10am - 2pm
High Street,
Alton, GU34 1AB
Alton has been the home to traditional country markets for more than 1000 years. It is the most valuable
market recorded in the Doomsday Book and today the town reflects this heritage through the interweaving
of its medieval, Tudor and Jacobean buildings with the Georgian Town Hall, Victorian facades and modern
arcades. The market tradition too has kept pace with changing times and today the many markets and
specialty shops combine the needs of modern day living with the relaxed and magical atmosphere of an
English country market town
The market town of Alton springs to life every second Saturday of the month with the arrival of the
Hampshire Farmers’ Market which attracts an average of 3,500 visitors to see the thirty plus stalls, full of the
abundance of local, in season Hampshire produce including meat, eggs, fresh and smoked fish, cheese,
cakes, wine, cider, bread, jams and pickles, fresh fruits, vegetables and plants.
There is always a great selection of delicious food as well, including salt beef sandwiches, beef burgers,
egg and bacon rolls, ideal for a breakfast on the go, brunch or lunch seasonally produced within Hampshire.
You can find us at Alton Farmers Market on the Second Saturday of every month from the begining of May
until the end of August
